Westonbirt wows with ‘Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’

On Friday 25th and Saturday 26th March Westonbirt School and Rose Hill Westonbirt School gave two magnificent performances of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,’ receiving rapturous applause and encores from two, sell-out audiences.

Pupils in Year 7 and 8 welcomed Jessica Saunders, former model and current lecturer at the London College of Fashion to their Key Skills Day on Friday, February 18th.

 

Academic Accolades for Westonbirt School

Sport, music , drama and art all flourish at Westonbirt School and academic performances are also excellent, with Westonbirt ranking in the top four per cent in the UK for GCSE 'value added' tests (conducted by Durham University).

Westonbirt School welcomed world-renowned percussion quartet 4-MALITY on Friday, 4th February, to perform at the school's termly musical concert.

 

'The Ministry of Food' by Jane Fearnley-Whittingstall

Westonbirt School's Spring Term Lecture welcomed Jane Fearnley-Whittingstall to present an informative talk about how the British public adapted to food shortages during the Second World War.

   

Students from Westonbirt School raise £2000 for cancer charity 'Hope for Tomorrow'

September 2010 saw Westonbirt pupils take part in the annual ‘Rainbow Walk’ to raise money for Hope for Tomorrow, a national cancer charity that helps those with cancer, their families and dependants cope with the reality of the situation.

 

1st Westonbirt Girl Guides make it a Centenary to remember

September 2009 marked the beginning of a very special year for Girl Guides up and down the Country. The Guides Association celebrated their 100th birthday, and continued long into the year in order to make it a centenary to remember! Here at Westonbirt, the celebrations included a launch party and a dance workshop with other Guides, Rangers, Brownies and Rainbows in the district.

   

Year 10 students raise money for disadvantaged children

On Wednesday, 1st December Westonbirt School hosted a musical fundraising concert in aid of the Old Karu Orphanage in Abuja, Nigeria.

 

Model United Nations' Debate at Westonbirt School

On Thursday, November 25th 2010, Westonbirt’s Year 10 students invited two local schools to take part in the annual Model United Nations’ Debate.

   

Westonbirt School celebrates Senior Math's Challenge success

Fourteen Westonbirt students took part in the challenge and collectively achieved 2 golds, 7 silvers and 5 bronzes in this year’s challenge, a fantastic result.  They included, Head Girl, Ashley White, who received Best in School and Gold.

 

Westonbirt Girls enjoy an Enchanted Christmas

Westonbirt School’s Choir and Samba Band spent the evening of Friday, 26th November in the company of Santa and his reindeers at Westonbirt Arboretum.

   

WESTONBIRT SCHOOL CELEBRATES GCSE RESULTS

The staff and girls at Westonbirt School are today celebrating excellent GCSE results, with:-

  • 40% of girls achieving A* or A grades
  • 97% of girls gaining 5 or more GCSEs at A*-C
  • 11% of the exams graded A*
