Sports Day at Westonbirt School
Pupils at Westonbirt School enjoyed an excellent finale to the sporting year at Sports Day on Friday, 24th June.
The atmosphere was electric from start to finish as pupils, staff and parents cheered on the competitors. The weather stayed fine and the Pimms tent was well received by the parents!
Badminton House was the overall winner of the day, with many personal bests achieved. The girls competed in running events, hurdles, long, high and triple jump, shot putt, discus and javelin throw. Congratulations to Poppy Swain-Grainger who was honoured with the Tamar Shaker Award, and to Alice Caulfield and Teddie Mardon who received the Victrix Ludorum Award for the best junior and intermediate performer.
Head of the P.E Department, Mrs Caroline Heathorne, commented how this year’s sports day had been the best yet: “The girls have worked tirelessly and have achieved some fantastic results - the standard this year was incredible. A huge congratulations to Badminton House!”
