No 'Kidding'!
Pupils in Year 11 spent Friday, 4th February raising awareness and funds for OXFAM. The girls were determined to raise enough money to send a goat to Africa to help poorer communities.
Dr Exon’s (Director of Music) Form presented a mock-up auction during Form Prayers (complete with a live goat!) inspiring Westonbirt girls to help the Form with their cause. During breaktime, the Year 11s held a ‘Goat Fayre’ comprising a cake sale and a ‘guess the amount of sweets in a jar’ competition, won by Year 10 pupil Amy Edwards. Not only was Amy lucky enough to win the sweet-filled jar, she also had a goat named after her! Amy joins 4 other goats- Daphne, Peter, Tobias and one to be named on their journey, accompanied by a set of chickens, to help communities in Africa.
The girls had plenty of fun and raised a lot of money for OXFAM in the process. Many thanks to all girls who contributed to the event.
