Westonbirt Students raise £2000 for charity.
On Friday, 10th December, Westonbirt School presented cancer charity 'Hope for tomorrow' with a cheque for £2000.
September 2010 saw Westonbirt pupils take part in the annual ‘Rainbow Walk’ to raise money for Hope for Tomorrow, a national cancer charity that helps those with cancer, their families and dependants cope with the reality of the situation.
Westonbirt Girls dressed up in rainbow themed wear and walked 5 kilometres around Westonbirt Arboretum, having asked family and friends to sponsor them. The total amount raised stood at £2000; an incredible amount of money for a very worthy cause.

It was during Westonbirt School’s final term assembly on Friday, 10th December that Christine Mills, Founder and Trustee of Hope for Tomorrow, was presented with the cheque. Christine explained that Hope for Tomorrow has recently launched two new vehicles: a Mobile Chemotherapy Assessment Unit and a Mobile Chemotherapy Support Vehicle, and that the £2000 would go towards funding a third unit.
Christine was particularly grateful to two Westonbirt students, Suzanna Battishill and Soraya Adams, pictured below with Christine, who were thanked for raising the most money for Hope for Tomorrow. Suzanna raised £83, and Soraya raised £100 for the charity.

Also thanked were the following students, who kindly offered their marshalling services for the Rainbow Walk: Lydia Marshall; Helen Walpole; Katherine Fisher; Saskia Burden; Alexandra Noon; Aisha Gross; Cassie Greenhill; Fiona Vincent; Sophie Falkenburg; Lucy Fenn; Annie Braxton; Hester Ingram; Jessica Good; Alice Fyfe; Gemma Harborne; Annabel Jardine-Blake.
Hope for Tomorrow was also chosen as a benefitting charity for Westonbirt School’s Autumn Fair, which secured another £1300 for the charity. Westonbirt School look forward to raising more money for the charity during next term.
