Westonbirt Girls enjoy an Enchanted Christmas.
Westonbirt School’s Choir and Samba Band spent the evening of Friday, 26th November in the company of Santa and his reindeers at Westonbirt Arboretum.
The Enchanted Christmas event saw hundreds of people enjoy an evening packed full of festive fun, including a Christmas Market offering unique gift ideas and seasonal food and drink. People were encouraged to navigate their way round the beautiful Illuminated Trail, whilst stilt walkers dressed as fairies and elves paraded and danced amongst the crowds.
Both the Westonbirt School Choir and Samba Band were given a warm reception from the crowd of spectators and performed two sets, each lasting forty-five minutes. The Samba Band offered a high-energy performance and the Choir sang a variety of songs, new and old, which were admired by children and adults alike. Many of the younger spectators were eager to sing along with the girls’ rendition of ‘The Holly and The Ivy’ and ‘Away in a Manger’, whilst the Grandparents swayed to the tones of Eva Cassidy’s ‘Fields of Gold’.
After the final set, the girls were thanked by Santa Claus himself. Santa had a wonderful time at Westonbirt Arboretum and furthermore promised that all the girls were on his ‘Good List’ after the wonderful performances they gave!
