Westonbirt School Hosts Award Winning Young People's Author
As part of Tetbury's Yellow Lighted Book Shop's festival of literature in May, Westonbirt School was delighted to welcome award-winning author, Meg Roscoff. Meg proved to be a hugely entertaining speaker, holding the girls spellbound as she described the development of her writing career, to which she came relatively late in life.
The event took place in the School's Victorian library, recently restored by the Holfords of Westonbirt Trust, (www.holfordtrust.com), a charitable trust, set up in partnership with the Arboretum, to restore the Holford heritage.
Meg's hilarious account of her worries about career choice, culminating in a failed foray into the world of advertising, caused laughter all round.
Meg's fourth book for young people, "The Bride's Farewell," has recently been released in paperback. The previous three books have earned great critical acclaim, with "Just in Case," winning the much coveted young people's book prize, the Carnegie Medal in 2007.
