MORE SUCCESS FOR OUR MUSICIANS

The musical success continues at Westonbirt with two more girls making it to the finals of the Southern Cotswolds Rotary Young Musician of the Year contest, following the brass, strings and piano heat this weekend.  They will join sixth former Tavy Howeson there, chosen for her saxophone playing in the recent woodwind heats.  With these three in the finals, Westonbirt will be the school with the most representation in the competition!

Esther Chuang (pictured here seated) was selected for her superb piano playing, which is a frequent highlight of our own lunchtime concerts.  Harriet Smith (second from left) was chosen for her excellent cornet recital.  Harriet recently performed at an assembly in our prep school, inspiring young pupils and impressing parents.  Both Esther and Harriet, who are in Year 11, were runners up in their sections and Bella Kimber (far right) and Georgie Fenn (far left) were also commended for their playing.  All four are pictured above with Gemma Harborne, who has recently joined the National Youth Training Choir. Tavy Howeson couldn't be in the photo as she at an A Level Music Conference in London on the day it was taken!
