Westonbirt School GardensSCHOOL GARDENS HELP TEENAGE CANCER CHARITY

We raised £158 for the Teenage Cancer Trust recently by opening the School Gardens to the public in memory of the daughter of one of our gardeners.

Lydia Howard died at the age of 16 in 2001 after a long and brave battle with cancer.  Normally admission charges to the gardens (open during school holidays) go towards the upkeep of our extensive grade 1 listed grounds, but now there is one special open day in Lydia's memory each year, when the takings go to a cancer charity for young people, chosen by her father Howard.  Next year CLIC will be the beneficiary.
