Our Future as a Leading British Girls' School

We are proud of our past as a traditional girls' boarding school but we are forward-looking too and are confident in our future as a leading British girls' school for boarders and daygirls.

Our governing body manages a rolling five-year strategic plan to ensure that every aspect of our boarding and day school for girls meets the genuine needs of all our pupils and to serve a real market demand.  Read on for a flavour of some of the ways in which our school continues to move with the times, serving a real market demand for both British boarders and day girls and for a limited number of international students too.

Best Academic Preparation for University
The Curriculum Committee ensures that the school's academic programme keeps pace with trends and gives our girls the best possible preparation for the next stage of their education, which is typically a British university, whether they are British nationals, British expatriates or international students.  Recent changes to the curriculum include the introduction of A Levels in Economics, Further Mathematics, PE and Psychology and replacing GCSE ICT with the ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) which is a much more valuable addition to one’s CV, wherever one wishes to work in Europe.

Excellent Facilities for Students
Our £3m Sports Centre has been transformed into a professionally run Leisure Centre operating as a separate profit centre generating non-fee income for the school while providing excellent facilities for our students.

New Accommodation for Sixth Form Boarders
There is a rolling programme of boarding accommodation upgrades, of which the latest manifestation is the acclaimed new Sixth Form block.  This new building was completed just in time, with great foresight by the governors, to accommodate a rise in demand from British girls eager to join our Sixth Form from coeducational senior schools.
