Westonbirt School welcomes pupils of all nationalities and international pupils are fully integrated into all aspects of life at Westonbirt.
Girls from overseas must have a certain level of English language when they join us. To help them improve their English as quickly as possible, all girls are taught mainstream for all their subjects and are encouraged to speak only English during the school day. They also receive extra coaching from our expert English Language Training department, led by Miss Chris Lloyd.
'International Day' at Westonbirt School is a very popular annual event, where pupils are given the opportunity to showcase their country and culture. In 2012, exhibitions and culinary delights were offered from Nigeria, Hong Kong, Korea, Spain, Mexico, Japan, Germany, France, New Zealand, Macau, Australia, Switzerland, Bermuda, China, and Taiwan.
"Pupils have a very well-developed cultural awareness. This is partly due to the diversity represented in the school and also through celebrations of cultural events. Cultural harmony is promoted effectively. All pupils have an appreciation and understanding of a wide range of faiths and enjoy learning about other cultures. Their cultural awareness is enhanced by their participation in music, art and drama." Independent Schools' Inspectorate 2011.
