The Friends of Westonbirt School Welcome You

The Friends of Westonbirt School brings together parents, staff and members of the local community for enjoyable social events which are open to the general public. FOW's future events are included in the Public Events section of this website.

The group's main objective is fun, rather than fundraising, but its events are often profitable, and FOW makes frequent donations to local charities such as the Friends of Tetbury Hospital and substantial contributions to the School for new facilities.

As a result of fundraising, the Friends are fortunate enough to be in a position to purchase an item or items with almost immediate effect meaning the girls benefit during their time at the school, and this is certainly deemed to be one of our greatest strengths. An example of this is when the “Friends came to the rescue” at the end of summer term when we were able to agree a considerable contribution towards the refurbishment of the tennis courts opposite the Frances Rawes Building. This meant the work could be carried out during the Easter holiday enabling the courts to be ready for use by the girls on their return to school in May.

"Just to say that I think the committee has put on a fantastic number of events this term. My husband and I are booked in for everything... I was at a lunch the other day talking to some people whose daughters are at other public schools and they don't have nearly as many social events... It made me feel awfully grateful to the FOW. Westonbirt is so much fun!"
